Setting Art-stArt as your start page

Art-start was designed to give its visitors access to a first-class web search engine, important news, and more useful features, while experiencing art by world-famous artists — all at no cost. Why? Because we who are behind Art-Start want more people to enjoy the treasures of true art. Read more about us here.

The future development of Art-stArt is heavily depending on the response we get from our visitors. By making Art-stArt your personal start page, you contribute to this development, and in the end, more features will be available. And don't forget to spread the word!

If you are one of the many who use google.com as your start page, switch to Art-Start instead. We give you the exact same search engine that you find at google.com, but we also give you much more. If you are afraid of large downloads due to the graphics on this site — don't be. All pictures are heavily (but carefully) compressed, and the pictures of the paintings and sculptures (the only pictures on the first page which are updated daily and not retrievable from your computer) are rarely over 15kB in size. If you use a newspaper site, msn.com, cnn.com, or a similar site as your start page today, rest assured that Art-stArt loads A LOT faster.

Important: If you need to use a particular start page to log on to the Internet, you should not change to Art-stArt!

How to do it (PC):

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and Above Users:

1. From the Internet Explorer pull-down View or Tools menus, select Internet Options.

2. Select the General tab.

3. Enter http://www.art-start.net in the Address text field or simply click the Use Current button and then click OK.

Netscape Navigator 4.0 and Above Users:

1. From the Netscape pull-down Edit menu, select Preferences.

2. Select Navigator from the Category list.

3. In the "Navigator starts with" section, click the Home Page radio button, and enter http://www.art-start.net in the Location text entry box in the Home page section.

4. Click the OK button.

 

Mac, Linux, and Unix users...
